Restaurants in Barcelona: Time for Lunch!
La Parodia: One of the best lunchtime menus in all of Barcelona!
Having lived in Paris for the last three months, I know everything there is to know about pricey restaurants. Restaurants in Barcelona can be expensive too. However, you can find great deals a bit further away from Las Ramblas and all of Barcelona’s tourists places.
If you are looking to grab a nice lunch in the city but are really sure where to go, don’t look any further. Today I’m gonna tell you about my favourite lunch restaurant in Barcelona.
My third week in Barcelona is coming to an end. To be perfectly honest, I spend every lunch break in this cosy restaurant.
La Parodia is located on Carrer de Mallorca 197, just a few steps away from our SuiteLife office on C/Aribau.
What Makes La Parodia Sooo Special?
When you get there for lunch, you can either choose to sit outside or inside. There is a different menu every day. You get a starter, main course, dessert, coffee, and one drink. I usually have a salad, meat and mousse au chocolat, and crepes or ice cream for dessert.
The quality of the food is absolutely amazing! The price is even better! They charge you 9,50€ for the entire menu.
In general, they offer three things for every course. Usually it’s vegeterian food, fish and meat for the main course.
That being said, it’s a place to go for everybody! On top of the always excellent food, what makes La Parodia so special is the amazing friendly service (not so common in Barcelona). The owners are the sweetest people and they go over and above the call of duty to make sure that each visitor leaves with a full stomach and a smile on their face. Really, it’s a pleasure to eat here, and that’s why us SuiteLifers can usually be found out on their terrace each and every day eating lunch.
Just to give you an example, I’ll list today’s menu 
Starter:
Enslada de Pasta – Pasta salad
Gazpacho de tomate y sandia – Cold Spanish soup with tomato and water melon
Rollitos vietnamita con ensalda – Soup spring rolls with salad
Main Course:
Pollo al curry con arroz basmati – Chicken curry
Costillas de cerdo braseadas con pure - Grilled Pork with Potatoes
Chistorras con patatas fritas y huevo - Spanish sausage with Fries
Dessert:
Tarta de manzana – Apple pie
Sorbete de limon - Lemon sorbet
Fresas con mascarpone – Strawberries with mascarpone
Other good things to know about La Parodia
Paradoja: Pardoja is another restaurant just around the corner. It is connected to the kitchen of Parodia, and only open during the weekends. This is basically because La Parodia doesn’t serve any food on Saturdays and Sundays.
Parodia by night: Being a really small restaurant/bar, La Parodia still has so much to offer. That being said, La Parodia turns into a really cool bar during the night. People say you can get the best Mojitos in town there (just 5 € each!). Also, there are Erasmus nights every Thursday!
