Noted as the most popular of Barcelona\u2019s Christmas markets<\/strong> it has a special Christmas<\/strong> atmosphere and is drenched with Catalan Christmas<\/strong> customs. This is a Christmas market<\/strong> that has stayed true to its surroundings and has purposely avoided taking on a German Christmas Market<\/strong> identity. No sir, instead of beer and Bratwurst you\u2019ll be able to pick up your very own Caga Tio, a smiling Christmas<\/strong> log which, although seems a little peculiar to many, in a Catalan world it\u2019s a time-honoured tradition. Also, scattered sporadically between these stalls you\u2019ll also find a few wooden open top shops selling decorations, jewellery and hand-made toys. Alongside the merry ambiance here you\u2019re spoilt with the stunning backdrop of the Cathedral so if it\u2019s a Christmas Market<\/strong> in Barcelona you\u2019re after then Fira de Santa Ll\u00facia has to be first on the list.<\/p>\n

Fira de Nadal a la Sagrada Familia<\/strong>\\\"Barcelona<\/a><\/h3>\n

This Christmas Market<\/strong> takes up residence, every year, in the snaking streets around the Sagrada Familia bringing the whole area to life. With a city so rich in fantastic architecture it\u2019s hard to find a location in Barcelona<\/strong> that doesn\u2019t have charm. However, although the other Christmas Markets<\/strong> have a good location, this market<\/strong> takes first price for most impressive scenery as none could be more eye catching and magical as the Sarada Familia.<\/p>\n

It has a very similar catalogue of products to sell as Fira de Santa Ll\u00facia but is not so compact. This does mean there\u2019s a little more room to manoeuvre whilst looking for items to fill your shopping bag in Barcelona at Christmas.<\/p>\n

Mercat G\u00f3tic (Fira de Brocanters) <\/strong><\/h3>\n

This market <\/strong>has permanent residency and can be found open to visitors all year round. It\u2019s the place to be if you\u2019re looking for old antiques, jewellery, postcards and stamps. However, if it\u2019s a peaceful and relaxed shopping trip you\u2019re after then go elsewhere as this market<\/strong> is busy at the best of times never mind in the run up to Christmas<\/strong>. In fact, you\u2019re more likely to find \u00a0freefalling from a plane a more relaxing experience than \u00a0taking a stroll here!<\/p>\n

That said if the crowds don\u2019t bother you then it\u2019s a great place to find a hidden gem that you can turn in to a first class Christmas<\/strong> gift.<\/p>\n

Col.lectiu d\u2019Artesans de l\u2019Alimentaci\u00f3<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Again open all year round but with a certain added charm at Christmas<\/strong> time. This small market sits gracefully under the watchful eyes of the Church Santa Maria del Pi and unlike the others this market<\/strong> is the one to be at if it\u2019s your taste buds you\u2019re looking to spoil this season. It\u2019s full of delightful delicacies from honey, pate, herbs, and most importantly chocolate. So, come on and treat yourself, it is Christmas<\/strong> after all.<\/p>\n
